THE HISTORY OF VICTORY CHRISTIAN ADADEMY God began the work of VCA in September of 2002 with 11 students.
Victory Christian Academy was officially incorporated by the state of Indiana on September 3, 2002, as a non-profit organization. Joyce Folk, Pam Wilson and Tammy Canzoneri, desiring to begin a mainstream evangelical, but independent Christian school pursued accomplishing the academy under the conviction of the Lord’s direction and the extreme need for such an organization.

These experienced educators opened Victory Christian Academy with both a 4th and 5th grade classroom serving 11 students with Pam Wilson as teacher. Soon, Joyce also began teaching math and science at the academy, while Tammy pursued the legal formation of the school as an independent non-profit organization. By the end of the first school year, enrollment had grown to 13 students, and included a 6th grade. The original meeting place for the school was located at 2644 Hamstrom Road in Portage, Indiana.

The Lord’s direction led the group developing the school to focus the search for a location in eastern Valparaiso. This location would allow easy access from most of Porter and western LaPorte counties. This search resulted meeting others in our community who were like-minded in their dream for an independent non-denominational Christian school. The resulting “Development Board” was born and included these members: Phil and Terri Linden, and Bill Arndt, in addition to the administration Joyce Folk, and Tammy Canzoneri.

Our second school year began with 59 students and concluded with 83. The 2004-2005 school year began with 150 students and closed with 167 with the school expanding to include 9th through 12th grade. By the end of the 2005-2006 school year we had 177 students. In 2006-07 year the school grew to over 205 students! In 2007-08 over 235 students enrolled in K4-12 grade classes and the year ended with 247 students.

For the 2007-08 school year, the preschool through 6th grade was located at 3805 LaPorte Avenue in Valparaiso where the school leased facilities from Washington Evangelical Free Church. The 7th through 12th grades were temporarily housed at Valparaiso Nazarene Church and First Methodist's Asbury Centre until VCA purchased a new facility.

The new facility, the North Campus, is located at 360 North 325 East in Valparaiso. Twelve acres and a large facility that includes 11 classrooms, offices, a worship center, a full size gym and kitchen have allowed VCA to expand offerings and have fields for sports. For the 2008-09 school year, Pre-school through 4th grade will be located at the South Campus and 5th-12th grade will be at the North Campus.

The Lord has blessed us with not just numbers, but great staff! They are about impacting generations to come with the Word of God and with excellent education that will bring knowledge, understanding and wisdom to God's children!
