Our vision is to impact the world for God's glory by sending out students that are educated, discipled, and inspired by the truth of His Word.
Our mission is to be an intentional voice in the lives of our students by disciplining them through Christ-centered education and preparing them to engage with and change the world.
1. Christ-Centered Education: We aim to provide education that has at its heart and as its foundation, the Gospel and truth of God's Word.
2. Excellence: We pursue excellence in every area of school life because God is deserving of, and glorified by, our wholehearted dedication.
3. Intentional Discipleship: We actively seek to facilitate the spiritual growth of our students through mentoring, teaching and modeling lives that are submitted to God's will and that are being transformed by His power.
4. Partnership with Families: We are committed to working together with parents in helping students deelop and threive in all areas of their education and school experience.
5. Mission: We recognize that the gospel propels us beyond ourselves to reach out with God's love to those around us and we therefore seek to provide opportunities for students to engage with and serve the local and global community.
The latest survey on what parents value as most important for their children as shared by Chuck Colson on Breakpoint places a good education before their children’s decision to accept Christ as their Savior. For those who see their child’s salvation as supreme and seek a support system in fulfilling this goal alongside an excellent education, a quality Christian school such as Victory Christian Academy can be an answer to prayer.
The environment in a Christian school provides the loving, nurturing place where the Lord is the center of the staff’s lives and of what is taught throughout the day. A child begins to see God as a part of his/her education and gets a sense of God’s place and call on his/her life. As they are trained in the Lord, they can fulfill the goals God has for them.
Victory Christian Academy is educating for eternity in preparing children to be holy and wise in their walk in the Lord. It is a place where students can build strong friendships with classmates and staff that love the Lord and seek God’s best for them as they assist in the training of students at VCA.
At VCA, students have little time to become caught up in the world’s system and the world’s perspective on life which is often the result when they are saturated in the public arena that removes God from all of life in the education process. At VCA, God’s name is honored and praised in a Christian atmosphere with prayer and the teaching of His Word being openly a part of the strong academics during all of the school day. Students see God’s perspective on the subjects they are learning. What better way is there for your child than to spend 30% of his 24-hour day than in a positive environment that honors and Lord and prepares his life through evangelism and discipleship to honor and serve the Lord.
The state of Indiana officially incorporated Victory Christian Academy September 3, 2002, as a non-profit organization. Joyce Folk, Pam Wilson and Tamara Canzoneri, desiring to begin a mainstream evangelical, but independent, Christian school pursued accomplishing the academy under the conviction of the Lord’s direction and the demonstrated need for such an organization.
These experienced educators opened Victory Christian Academy with a split 4th and 5th grade classroom serving 11 students with Pam Wilson as teacher. Joyce began teaching math and science at the academy, while Tammy pursued the legal formation of the school as an independent non-profit organization. By the end of the first school year, enrollment had grown to 13 students, and included a 6th grade.
The Lord directed the group developing the school to focus the search for a location in eastern Valparaiso. This location would allow easy access from several communities. This search resulted in meeting others in the community who were like-minded in their dream for an independent, non-denominational Christian school.
Over the past 15+ years VCA has grown rapidly to over 350 students and we see this as evidence of God’s desire for Christian Education in this area. We are blessed and humbled to include that over 200 students and or parents have come to know the Lord though the ministry of Victory Christian Academy during this time.
In 2009 VCA received accreditation by ACSI (The Association of Christian Schools International) and in 2010 the school received accreditation through North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA-CASI). The leadership of VCA praised Jesus for clearing this hurdle. In 2016 the school was re-accredited by ACSI and AdvancEd (formerly NCA-CASI).
VCA is approved by the state of Indiana to accept Indiana School Choice Vouchers families that qualify and Scholarship Granting Organization Scholarships through private donors. The school’s leadership is confident that the Lord’s blessings will continue to rest on VCA and its families and looks to the Lord as to how He will carry VCA forward!
