The Senior class is looking forward to a great adventure the week following Spring Break! They will be traveling to serve on the Flathead Indian Reservation in Ronan, Montana. Mrs. Mandich and Mr. Phillips will be traveling with them to serve as sponsors. They will be leaving Saturday, March 26, and returning Saturday, April 2, or Sunday, April 3. One thing which will enable them to serve is a purpose focused on Jesus and His word.
Purpose is important in anything that we do. We go to school with the purpose of learning. We go to church with the purpose to worship, fellowship, and to hear from God through His word. I believe that all things done with purpose give motivation and heart, which also gives satisfaction. Jesus gave one of His great purposes to the disciples who were always looking out for their own greatness. The disciples wanted to be the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven, alongside Jesus. They wanted to be the ones who were served. Jesus turned that purpose upside down.
Purpose: Matthew 20:26-28
….26 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
VCA Seniors are looking to follow Jesus' lead by taking their purposes from Jesus words which are to:
Glorify Jesus through service
Grow to be more like Jesus through service
Glorifying Jesus ensures that He receives the glory through service and not people. Service is also a great way to be like Jesus and grow closer to Him. Would you like to participate in service even though you aren’t going? You can serve Jesus through your support in prayer and financial support. Please commit to pray for the Seniors, their sponsors, the bus drivers, and all those who will be leaders of the trip in Montana. If God moves your heart, please send any support for the trip to the VCA office attn. Senior mission trip.
Thanks for your support and prayers already!
