The Director of Development is responsible for the planning, organization, and implementation of all Victory Christian Academy (VCA) fundraising efforts that support giving in the areas of capital campaigns, endowment funding, special events and other areas of giving that may be designated by the Administration and Board of Directors.

• Possess strong interpersonal and writing skills.

• Have knowledge and experience in fundraising techniques, particularly major gift fundraising.

• Possess the skills to work with and motivate staff, board members, and other volunteers.

• Enjoy initiating and building relationships with potential donors through fundraising calls and visits with donors.

• Be organized and exhibit "follow through" on tasks and goals.

• Display a positive attitude, show concern for people and the community, and demonstrate presence, self-confidence, common sense, and good listening ability.

• Bachelor's degree preferred (preferably in an area related to fundraising and development) but not required.  An applicant possessing the requisite skills to do the job would be considered regardless of academic credentials.

• Five or more years of experience in fundraising is strongly desired, preferably with direct experience for major gift and/or annual fund development at a Christian school, university, or other non-profit organization.
