Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ,

who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age,

according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Galatians 1:3-5

Grace and peace. These two words represent gifts from God that we desperately need in our lives individually, as a school and as a nation.  I believe peace is the by product of God’s grace in our lives.

Alexander Pope, an Enlightenment poet famously wrote: “To err is human; to forgive is divine.” The biblical expression of this concept is found in Isaiah 53:6. “We all like sheep have gone astray.” The good news, however, is that “God has laid on Him (Christ) the iniquity of us all.”

As we are now 28 days into the school year, we all need to experience and extend God’s “grace and peace” to one another.  To forgive is not only divine, but it is also something we are called to extend to one another because “God has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.”

Have a great weekend basking in God’s grace and peace.  Hope to see you all at the VCA family picnic tonight!

SPIRIT WEEK AND MISSION FOCUS WEEK, SEPTEMBER 25-29:

M- Sports Day

T-  Inside Out Day

W- Wacky Day

Th- Purple & Gold Day

F- Superhero Day

Operation Christmas Child is our Mission Focus for the week!!   A few things as you prepare for supporting your child, their class, and this mission.

  • You should have received a half sheet bright orange list of items that need to be donated by your student and their class.
  • As you purchase items over the week and weekend could you do us a HUGE FAVOR??  If you have more than one child that is bringing items in please send them in separate bags.  Then, either on a piece of paper, post-it-note or the item sheet, would you mark what you purchased and how many of the items you are sending in.  Two reasons for this.....1.  It will help as the office staff count items each morning for the competition and 2.  It will help our organizers and packers on Thursday and Friday.
  • Please do not put your students' names on the slips as we are not tracking what each individual student brings.
