For even the Son of Man did not come to be served,
but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Mark 10:45 NIV

Schools like VCA depend upon volunteers to help support the many activities, both inside and outside of school, that are part of the total educational experience. Everything from field trip drivers to event chaperones, PTF events, and extracurricular activities, all require a certain amount of volunteer time to help them succeed. In other words, VCA could not do what we do without the help of volunteers.

I have found over the years that finding volunteers is getting more and more difficult. There are more homes where both parents work outside the home and more single-parent families, for one thing.  And life just seems to be busier than ever before.

To all of our volunteers who have given their time, talent, or treasure this year, I want to say thank you for serving.  Jesus said that He “did not come to be served, but to serve…”  And He gave the ultimate gift: “His life as a ransom for many.”

On May 16th, VCA will host our annual “Donor Appreciation Luncheon” at Valley Baptist Church in Valparaiso.  This event is to honor everyone who has given of their time, talent or treasure this school year.  Please contact Megan Huber to RSVP by May 10th.

 Shepherding His Lambs,
David Funk
Superintendent, VCA
