Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Galatians 6:9 NIV

We are officially into May and the final three weeks of the school year.  It’s the time of year when my former administrator used to say, “The horse is headed for the barn.” For those who are not familiar with this phrase, it simply means that students (and staff) are ready to be done and head off into the summer sun and have fun.

It’s important to finish well what we start.  Teachers still have curriculum to cover and students still have lessons to be learned. The apostle Paul reminded the church at Ephesus to “Make the most of every opportunity…” We need to do the same with the remaining days that are left in the school calendar.

As we partner with the home as a school, we ask that parents partner with us to make the most of the remaining days on the school calendar. Encourage your children to finish strong and do their best. The time to rest and play (or work a summer job) will be here soon enough.  Let’s run through the finish line as a school!

Shepherding His Lambs,

David Funk

Superintendent, VCA

CONDOLENCES: Last weekend, the daughter of Missi Maynard (our NC Administrative Assistant) passed away.  She was 21 years old.  To lose a child at any age is tragic, but especially one with so much of her life ahead of her.  Please join the VCA faculty and staff as we support and lift up Missi and her son, Lucas, in prayer.  Thank you.
