Friday Update, May 9th
Here we are—May. Or, as I like to call it, the month of “Mayhem”.
You know the signs: the calendar is a jigsaw puzzle of programs, field trips, graduations, field days, testing, and “please send in one dozen cookies shaped like the solar system” type requests. Backpacks are fuller than ever, yet somehow no one has a pencil. Lunches are creative (snacks in disguise), and bedtime routines are holding on by a thread.
And through it all, you’re still showing up—with patience, grace, and maybe a touch of dry shampoo. Can I just say: you're doing amazing.
In this whirlwind, let’s hold on to Isaiah 40:31:
“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
What a promise. When we feel like we’re running on fumes, God offers renewal. When the Mayhem of May threatens to steal our peace, He offers strength—not just to finish the school year, but to finish it well.
And remember, your efforts—every lunch packed, every tear wiped, every reminder to “just check your folder”—are seen and valued. God delights in your faithfulness, even when no one else notices.
Your love and support are planting seeds in your children’s hearts that will grow for years to come. The mayhem is temporary, but the impact you’re making is eternal.
So breathe deep. Laugh often. Celebrate the chaos. And keep going, knowing that you’re never walking alone—God is right beside you, cheering you on.

THANK YOU! We would like to say a special thank you to the following faculty and staff who will not be returning to VCA for the 2025-2026 school year. It has been a pleasure serving with them in this ministry, and we look forward to all that God has planned for them in their future endeavors: Dylan Bailey, Allen Frey, Chris Frey, Andrew Gretzinger, Rick Jones, Crystal Kegebein, Kelleen Merrell, Tim Pivarnik, and Jim Wheeler. We look forward to the new faculty already hired and extend a warm welcome to Becky Smith (2nd grade), Lisa Mohnacky (4th grade), and Jessica Storey (Elementary PE). We are still looking to fill a few positions: High School English Language Arts (full-time), High School History (part-time), High School Spanish (part-time), Elementary Music (part-time). If you know anyone who would be interested in any of these positions, have them visit our website and complete our employment application.

VCA Art Show & Fine Arts Collective, Monday, May 12 - South Campus Art show from 5-7:00, North Campus from 6-8:00. Come as you can to view this year’s art projects and listen to live music from our very talented students.
Middle School Parent Meeting, May 13, 6:00-7:00 pm, at the North Campus, for all parents of students entering grades 5-8 for the 2025-2026 school year.
VCA Parent Meeting, May 13, 7:00 - 8:00 pm at the North Campus. This will be a “town-hall” style meeting with the school board.
VCA Volleyball Camp, May 13-15, 3:15-5:00, for girls currently in 4-7th grades. See the attached flyer for more information.
