Lion’s Roar - May 2026
From the desk of Mrs. Smith...
I cannot believe I am sitting here writing the last entry in our Lion’s Roar for the 2025-2026 school year. In August, we began praying our theme verse, Colossians 2:6-7, reminding us to "let our roots grow down into him, and let our lives be built on him." In October, I shared the excitement of what was happening at VCA and asked you to anticipate the new things God would do. Looking back now, boy, God did not disappoint! Through the leadership and hard work of our amazing teachers and staff, our students have had many opportunities to see those roots take hold.

Over the next five weeks, we invite our families to join us in prayer as we reflect on our Core Values.
We begin this week by lifting up our commitment to Christ-centered Education. We believe that "all things were created through Him and for Him" (Colossians 1:16), and that includes the way we learn and grow.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our parent nights in March. It was wonderful to connect and share the vision for our students' futures. As we look toward the next couple of years, our primary focus is to “Educate with Excellence and Consistency.” To stay true to this mission, we are targeting six key areas of growth:

Welcome to March, VCA Families! Spring is near, and I’m sure you are as ready as I am for some warmer weather. Excitement is also in the air as enrollment has officially opened for next year! While I find myself torn between finishing this year strong and looking ahead with anticipation, it is a joy to see our community grow…

Our Weekly Chapel Focus
Last week we talked about availability—placing what we have in God’s hands and trusting Him to multiply it. Today, we had the joy of seeing that happen. Together, our school packed 45,504 meals (in 1.5 hours), and those meals will now be sent to Ghana and Uganda—meeting physical needs while also creating opportunities for people to hear about and come to know Jesus. What felt like a simple task became something far greater in God’s hands. Colossians 3:17 reminds us: “Whatever you do… do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus.” Today was a beautiful picture of that truth. When we live with open hands, even ordinary actions have an eternal impact.

This week, we are focusing our prayers on the hearts and habits of our students. Our goal is to see them grow not just in knowledge, but in Christ-like character.
Please join us in praying for:
A Teachable Spirit: That students would have a humble willingness to learn from their teachers, mentors, and peers.
Respect for Leadership: For a deep appreciation of the time, prayer, and preparation their teachers pour into every lesson…

From the desk of Mrs. Smith...
The time has come for re-enrollment for the 2026-27 school year! While our teachers continue their dedicated work with standards and our students are busy learning in their classrooms, our leadership team has spent the last several months looking ahead. We have been planning not just for next year, but for the long-term future of our school.

Colossians 3:1–4 Summary:
Paul reminds us that because we have been raised with Christ, our lives are now anchored in Him and His Kingdom. We are called to set our hearts and minds on Jesus—not the temporary things of this world—because what captures our attention shapes who we become…

VICTORYCHRISTIANACADEMY
From the desk of Mrs.Smith...
Happy New Year, VCA! I love it when the halls and classrooms are full again with noise and energy! As we start this second semester, the word on my heart is: Provider. In Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus is speaking to the crowds about anxiety and worry and explains what to focus on when that creeps into our lives…
Friday Update - Oct. 6th, 2025
At the North Campus, we are in Colossians 1:15–22 and were reminded that when our sins and problems feel too big, it’s usually because our view of Jesus has gotten too small. Paul shows us that Jesus is God in the flesh, the Creator of everything, the One who holds the world together, the Head of the Church, and the Savior who brings us back to God through His death and resurrection. Our struggles may be too much for us—but they are never too much for Jesus.

Last week's Fall Spirit Week was an absolute VICTORY! We were blown away by your incredible generosity, collecting over 8,000 items and just over $2,000 in change for Operation Christmas Child! Thank you for channeling your resources into blessing this amazing ministry. Every year, I am deeply encouraged by the practical way our VCA community shares the love of Jesus.
Friday Update, Sep. 26th
There is something spiritual about sweating.
This week we completed our first Act of Kindness (A-OK) Event of the year. Serving and
sweating isn’t usually at the top of our to-do list, but when we step into it, something inside
us comes alive—almost as if we were created for it.
Friday Update, Sep. 19th
We are getting into the school groove—work, church, and now Spirit Week on top of it all. Do you feel the angst?
The Lion’s Roar - Sept. 2025
FROM THE DESK OF MRS. SMITH:
Wow, I cannot believe that we are in September and Fall is quickly approaching. What a great start to our 25-26 school year so far! Our team has been busy already!
Friday Update, Aug. 29th
Locked on Jesus...Locked in Life
Every Sermon is really just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to God’s
Word. That’s why, every other week, instead of chapel, we set aside time
for Life Groups at North Campus. These groups are led by volunteers who
walk with students to dig a little deeper into the text—but more
importantly, to talk about how to actually live it out.
